The former FC Barcelona striker believes there will never be another player like the Argentine star

Former FC Barcelona star Hristo Stoichkov spoke to Barça TV after Saturday's match against Granada. The Bulgarian, ahead of the FIFA Ballon d'Or on Monday, had some words of praise for Leo Messi who is one of the three nominees for the award.

Stoichkov, who had two spells with the club, from 1990 to 1995 and from 1996 to 1998, believes that the Argentine deserves to win the coveted prize.

"There is no doubt that Messi should win the Ballon d'Or," said Stoichkov. "I doubt there will be another player like Messi."

Stoichkov is, however, disappointed that one particular Barça forward is not in the running: "The only problem is that Luis Suárez has not been nominated," he lamented.
